So, I subscribe to this email that provides the “Word of the Day!” This morning, today’s word is quinquennial, meaning
“recurring every five years; lasting for or relating to a period of five years.”
After reading that, I opened my Bible App, and the verse for the day was Isaiah 43:18-19 (NASB2020) –
“Do not call to mind the former things, Or consider things of the past. Behold, I am going to do something new. Now, it will spring up. Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.”
When I sat back and pondered on those two things, it then occurred to me. 2019 resulted in significant changes in my life; some things were good, others were bad. However, in 2024, I shredded the weight of the things that crippled me, starting in 2019, and embarked on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Those last five years were hard and challenging, but it is now over. God met me amid all that chaos and charted a path for me that I could have never envisioned happening.
With the hope of this new year comes the hope of a new season. A new five-year journey that will chart the course for what my next five years will look like. I am hopeful for the great things God has in store for me as I can look back, knowing He has brought me thus far and will continue to carry me this year and beyond.
So I know that He has done this for me, but I sense that this hope is not just for me but for everyone who is in alignment with Him. He is telling us that He will do a new thing this year. Something that had never been done in the past. He is the only being who can create something from nothing. So I am confident that when He said He will do something NEW, it will be NEW, the likes of which have NEVER been seen before.
My prayer today for everyone is that we lean into this newness. Trust Him and watch Him create the new things in our lives.
