Every year, college athletes compete in a basketball tournament known as March Madness, where they strive to be the best. This event is celebrated for its unexpected upsets, as underrated teams often rise to victory. While many fans cheer for their favorite teams, the underdogs typically receive the loudest support. Their victories spark celebrations, and even in defeat, we admire their journeys. Why? Because we can all relate to feeling overlooked. When an underdog triumphs, it fills us with hope; even in their losses, we see the potential for change.

Where am I going with this? Stay with me!

Just like those athletes who have worked hard throughout the season, we, too, have made it to March. This month symbolizes the hope and promise that our endurance has not been in vain. Some moments have felt like victories, while others have brought painful losses. But here we are—we made it! We are in the tournament of our lives, and now is the time to press forward, using the talents God has given us—not for our own glory, but for His ultimate glory.

Hebrews 12:2 reminds us to fix our eyes on Jesus and not on hardships, setbacks, or disappointments. As we navigate life’s tournament, we face constant tests, challenges, and refinements. Each obstacle is shaping us; we are learning new strategies, recognizing our opponents, and discovering more about ourselves—and more importantly, who we are in God. However, learning and growing is not easy. This journey requires perseverance, faith, and endurance. Nevertheless, the reward of victory far outweighs the pain of the process.

You are here because you are qualified. You are not in this battle alone—your strength is not solely your own. Christ is with you in every contest. He is your coach, your teammate, and your biggest supporter. He understands the value of each trial, and He plays a crucial role in your winning strategy. Because of Him, you can move forward with confidence, knowing that no matter what happens, you will grow, endure, and ultimately win. His glory is THE ultimate glory—not what we envision, but what He has prepared for us.

So let’s shift our perspective. This is not a month of madness; it is a month of gladness! We move forward with joy because we know God is with us. It may not always be easy, but through Him, we will always triumph.
