March On!

This month, I feel incredibly creative. As March began just a few days ago, two things resonated deeply with me: 1. Manifestation and 2. The Bahamas National Anthem. To understand the first, let’s unpack the second.

Now, I’m sure the Bahamas National Anthem is at the top of your playlist (wink), but in case it’s not, here’s a quick summary. Titled March On, Bahamaland, its lyrics speak of the promise of a new hope for a new nation. When it was first sung on the night of July 10, 1973, newly minted citizens stood together, ready to leave behind their struggles and step into an uncertain but hopeful future.

Just like them, as I entered March, I felt that same anticipation—believing in the promises ahead and expecting their manifestation. But getting here wasn’t easy. TRUST ME. For the shortest month of the year, February sure felt like an uphill battle. I had to push to get to March. But when the clock struck midnight, my weariness shifted to hope.

Whenever I hear something that stirs my spirit, I turn to scripture for deeper understanding. In the Bible, whenever people were told to “march on,” they were either:

1. Going into battle from a place of victory—not hoping to win, but knowing they would win because God was with them. (Joshua 6:3-5. Number 2:1-2, 1 Chronicles 18:5-6)
2. Leaving a place of slavery for freedom—stepping into something greater, even if the road ahead was uncertain. (Exodus 14:8, Numbers 9:17-23)

Were they afraid? Absolutely. Was there uncertainty? Always. But still—they marched on. They didn’t know exactly how their victory would come, but they trusted that it was already theirs. They may have feared the changes ahead, but ultimately, they emerged victorious.

So what does this mean for us?

As we continue to March into this month, challenges will arise. Hurdles will come. But every step forward is leading us to victory. The fact that we made it to March proves that we are strong enough to face what’s ahead. We are equipped and destined to walk in triumph.

And when April arrives, we’ll look back and celebrate the victories won. But for today, let’s do the one thing we know to do—

March On!
