From Tight-Lipped Tina to Tell-It-All Tiana: A Podcast Reflection

Okay, so I’m really late posting this—but life has been life-ing, and I’ve just been caught up in the whirlwind of it all. Still, this is something worth celebrating, and I didn’t want to let it pass without saying something.

Recently, my friends and I launched our podcast, SI-Stars! It’s available on all major podcast platforms (links below!). Our first episode was hilarious—thanks to my girl Shakira and her unforgettable question—but by week two, something deeper started to happen.

As I rewatched that second episode, I had a moment. A real moment. I saw someone on screen I barely recognized—me. There I was: opening up, sharing my story, speaking with boldness and vulnerability. And I thought, When did I start talking so much? When did I go from tight-lipped Tina to tell-it-all Tiana?

But it was more than just talking. It was truth. It was healing. It was growth.

Watching myself speak so freely reminded me just how far I’ve come. I used to feel invisible—like my voice didn’t matter, like my story held no value. But that girl I saw on the podcast? She was resilient. She was worthy. She had something to say. And it hit me: that’s me. That’s really me.

So today, I just want to say thank you—thank you to God for the journey. It’s been hard. There were days I cried myself to sleep, nights I didn’t think I’d make it through. But step by step, little by little, I’ve made it here.

It’s taken good friends, amazing family (shoutout to Susan Gardner!), therapy (yes, it’s a beautiful thing), and above all, time in the Word. Spending time with God helped me see myself the way He sees me: whole, loved, and called.

I’ve learned I can walk into rooms with confidence. I can share my story to help someone else avoid the same pain. I can be the light God has called me to be, so that others may see His goodness—and He gets the glory. I can do all of this because of Christ who strengthens me. Because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

To every woman reading this: I know there are days you look in the mirror and wonder, Is there more? And I want to tell you—yes. There is so much more. Even if you don’t see it yet, you can craft your future. Trust God with the process. Let Him chart your course. And when you get to that destination—whatever it looks like—you’ll see a beautiful representation of His love and grace shining through you.
